Barcelona Looking At Chelsea Man, But Should He Leave?

Chelsea’s success throughout the Roman Abramovich era has been structured on a solid defence, and at the backbone of that is the Czech international Petr Cech. The man with the helmet has become a Premier League hero over the years, but the Daily star are reporting that he’s gained fans amongst the Barcelona hierachy who want him to make a switch to Camp Nou.

After nine years in west London it’s believed that the 31-year-old may be interested in a new start, and perhaps the final chapter of his career. Judging by goalkeepers, Cech could have about eight or nine years left at the top, assuming he is able to steer clear of injuries, and should Barcelona replace Victor Valdes – who is supposedly leaving at the end of the season – with Cech it would be a brilliant move.

Although Cech is keen to work under Jose Mourinho again and push for the Premier League title, the fact that Thibaut Courtois is fancied to return to the club and take up the spot between the sticks is something that may be playing on the mind of the Chelsea shot-stopper.

For me, Cech is integral to the Blues teamand to get rid of him would be a travesty to English football. However, should 21-year-old Courtois challenge for his spot then good luck to him in Catalonia.

What do you reckon Blues fans – Cech or Courtois?
