The Statistics Behind 16 Goal Tottenham Target

It appears that the signing of Roberto Soldado wasn’t enough for Andre Villas-Boas this summer, and he is in search for another striker. The Mirror are reporting that AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy is the man that the Portuguese boss is after, and a fee of over £20m may be necessary to draft him into north London.

But what exactly would the 20-year-old offer the White Hart Lane outfit?

Not only can the Italy international be deployed on either flank, but he can take up a central position as the out-and-out striker. He has played just twice this season in Serie A and one of those was as a substitute, and has had little chance to show what he’s capable of this term.

However, if we switch back to last season we can see that he had a remarkable campaign. He struck 16 goals in his 37 league goals, created 56 chances and completed 84% of his passes. His creativity across the front berths was key to whatever Milan achieved and it’s likely to continue to be that way this term.

The addition of Kaka threw El Shaarawy’s future into doubt, and Tottenham have been all too happy to lap up the rumours.

What do you reckon Spurs fans? Is this man the one for you?
