Factfile: 10 things Arsenal and Liverpool fans should know about striker target with 12 goals in 9 games

Being a Liverpool fan, I can say this is the most exciting Premier League season for a long time. While Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez do their business up front, the Daily Star are reporting that Brendan Rodgers is ready to go to battle with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for the signature of Konstantinos Mitroglou.

1) Born in Kavala, Greece, the 25-year-old has represented his country on 25 occasions, scoring five times.

2) While he started in the youth ranks at his local sides, he joined the Borussia Monchengladbach youth system when he was 16.

3) In his year at the German club, he played 33 games  for the reserves and scored 14 goals.

4) He then joined Olympiakos in his homeland and has gone onto play 137 games for the club and scored 57 goals.

5) He has also had loan spells at Panionios and Atromitos.

6) Last season Mitroglou scored 20 goals in 42 games for the Greek outfit.
