This season has been one to remember so far for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey. Not only has the Wales international put in a number of sterling performances, but he has struck eight goals in his 11 games this season, with four of those coming in the Premier League. But as it’s the first time that the 22-year-old has showed this sort of form, we ask – is he a flash in the pan, or is he the real deal?
Last season Ramsey was a key member of the side, appearing in 36 of the Gunners’ 38 games. He created 44 chances and completed 88% of his attempted passes, but few regarded him as a world-beater as he mustered just one goal all term.
However, the way he patrolled the central areas impressed many, and the call from Arsene Wenger to get more goals has certainly been answered this time round.
As mentioned, Ramsey has hit four goals in his seven games. He has carved eight opportunities, completed 86% of his passes and won 64% of his duels – including 31/35 of his tackles. Ramsey has had 12 shots this season, seven of which have hit the target, and has generally injected a spark into the Arsenal side.
