It seems incredible that Ronaldo’s 34 goals in 34 goals, but the little Argentine did just that. Messi struck 46 in 32 La Liga games, and created a 45 chances on top on that – which falls shorts of Ronaldo’s 62.
Fast forward to this season and it’s Messi again that has the more goals – the 26-year-old has eight goals in six games, while Ronaldo has scored seven in eight, while they have both created 13 chances.
Ronaldo has won a bigger margin of his individual duels – 66% to Messi’s 59% – but is looking up at Messi in almost every other aspect.
His 84% pass completion is better than Ronaldo’s 79%, while his 78% shot accuracy eclipses Ronaldo’s 57%.
