3 Reasons Why Manchester City Signing Casillas Would Be Win-Win For All Involved

With Manchester City’s options between the sticks looking as though they need reinforced, here are three reasons why I think signing Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas would be win-win for all involved.

1) Hart’s form

It is surely only a matter of time before Joe Hart is dropped from the Manchester City side. I would suggest that if the Citizens had stronger options between the sticks then perhaps he already would have, but with only Richard Wright and Costel Pantilimon as options, Hart has kept his place.

The arrival of Casillas could rekindle the form that Hart is known for, but if it doesn’t then City have a top-class keeper on their hands.

2) Real Madrid freed funds

It’s obvious that he isn’t wanted at the Santiago Bernabeu and it’s damaging both his career and his reputation. Should he leave in January, or even the summer, then it frees up the wages that he is on and gives them a nice little cash sum from which they will receive from his transfer.

3) Premier League’s gain

There is no doubt in my mind that Casillas still has the attributes to be considered as one of the top keepers in world football, he just needs the run of games and love to show that is the case. La Liga’s loss would certainly be the Premier League’s gain should any move transpire.
