When Liverpool snapped up Iago Aspas from Celta in the summer it sparked a positive reaction from a lot of the Liverpool fans. However, the forward is yet to find the back of the net for the Reds and is starting to look a bit overwhelmed with life in the Premier League. Now, with the lack of form, the Daily Star are reporting that a loan move back to La Liga – this time with Valencia – but would shipping him out on loan benefit the club, or Aspas himself?
The form of Daniel Sturridge has meant that his experiences in a Reds shirt have mainly come in the wide berths and has hardly looked comfortable in what he has been doing. He has created seven chances in six games, but he has struggled to get the better of opponents when in wide areas. He’s not the quickest, he’s not the most skilful and he holds almost no physical presence.
So, considering that La Liga is generally played at a slower pace and assuming that he gets deployed in his favoured striker role then you’d have to suggest that a loan switch would be a positive thing.
His movement inside the box is what makes him such a threat to opponents, but being played on the flanks doesn’t allow him to do that, so I would like to see him have a stint back in Spain.
