3 Things We Learnt From Arsenal’s 2-0 Win At Home To Liverpool

Liverpool fell to a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal this weekend as the Emirates side opened a five point gap at the top of the Premier League. Here are three things we learnt from the game.

1) Arteta is the real deal

In the absence of Mathieu Flamini, Arteta had a huge job to do to dismantle the in-from duo of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez, and he did it brilliantly. Not only did he win 5/6 tackles, make three interceptions and complete both of his take ons, but he completed 100/106 of his attempted passes, which equates to 94%.

The Spaniard was a worthy mention for Man of the Match.

2) Ramsey can do no wrong

It seems as though that everything the Wales international touches it turns to gold, so when he let fly from distance on the half volley there was no question about where the ball was ending up. Ramsey was also dogged in his midfield work – winning 5/5 of his tackles and making two interceptions.

Ramsey is a man on fire right now and long may his purple patch continue.

3) Arsenal can rough it with the big boys

The clash was the first time that the Gunners had gone up against a side near the top in the Premier League and they proved that they can pick apart the big boys. The Gunners made almost 100 more passes than the Reds and were thoroughly impressive throughout.
