There commentary of Sergio Aguero’s title-winning goal two seasons ago will go down in football history forever, and there are few of us who will ever get bored of hearing it. The injury time strike handed Manchester City the title as they bettered Manchester United’s goal difference, and he has since scored a hatful of goals for the club. But now the Mirror are suggesting that he is a big money signing for European champions Bayern Munich.
Aguero fits the City side perfectly, and I think he would be wasted in a Bayern Munich side who don’t play to his strengths. He’s a nippy player who thrives on playing on the shoulder of the defence but he can also drop in and get involved with the build up.
With the nimble front men presently at City in the shapes of David Silva and Samir Nasri, Aguero can interchange at will and still get his shots off at goal.
It’s now 57 goals in 99 games for the Argentine which is an incredible return, and to give that up to join a team who side who are just as domineering, if not more so, but who play at a slower pace than City and are very much focused on their wing play would be a poor decision in my eyes.
I hope he stays and continues his fine form in the Premier League.
