Could Chelsea Man Be The Perfect Signing For Arsenal This January?

Although Arsenal sit top of the Premier League right now with a five-point cushion, there are already whispers going around north London as to who they need to sign in January to really solidify their title challenge. One man that has been doing the rounds – perhaps because of the rumours from the summer transfer window – is Chelsea forward Demba Ba, who has hardly featured this season for the Blues.

But is he what they need?

Arsene Wenger will probably be on the lookout for a forward who is comfortable playing second fiddle to Olivier Giroud, perhaps coming off the bench for the last 10-20 minutes of each game and leading the line during cup games, but also has more ability than Nicklas Bendtner.

Demba Ba is currently third choice striker at Chelsea, behind Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Torres, and would probably jump at the chance to move up a place.

He’s only made two appearances this term in the Premier League for the west London club, having three shots and making two key passes, but he has the attributes that could make a real difference at the Emirates.

His physical stature would allow him to play a similar role to Giroud – holding the ball up and making a nuisance of himself – while he’s strong in the air and has a knack of holding the ball up and bringing others into play.

Whether there is a deal to be done or not I do not know, but in my opinion Ba would be a very shrewd piece of business for the Gunners.
