Arsenal are flying this season, there’s no doubt about that. Sitting top of the Premier League with a five point cushion and sat aloft of their Champions League group, there is reason why Arsene Wenger’s grin is looking bigger than ever.
The Frenchman has seen his players do the business so far this season without a number of players available to him through injury, but now they are slowly coming back into the fold, things look as though things will only get better for the Gunners.
But the increase in players means that some will have to miss out, and I fear that one of those will be Jack Wilshere.
The north London side play a 4-2-3-1 formation with the attack now built around Mesut Ozil in the pocket behind the striker. So with two central areas left in the squad to share between Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, Mathieu Flamini and Wilshere, there could be a few problems.
Flamini is the most important man in the side for me, as he anchors the whole side. Without the presence of a shield in front of the back four then the attacking unit can’t operate as effectively, for me, and Flamini does that best.
Arteta has also shown how strong he is this season when sitting in the deeper role. He was essential to the north London side went they picked apart Liverpool recently and is worth every minute he plays right now.
Aaron Ramsey… Well, 10 goals already this season argues his case for himself.
Wilshere has played on the left this season in place of the injured Santi Cazorla, but now the Spaniard is back in form Wilshere is out on his ear once more.
For me there is no room for the 21-year-old in the current side, but of course he is a useful asset to hold. Gunners, what do you think of the situation?
