There were two big-name goal-getters on the move during the summer months, and while Edinson Cavani and Radamel Falcao reportedly had offers from around Europe, they both opted for a move to the money-bags of French football – the former to Paris Saint-Germain to partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the latter to Monaco.
However, it seems as though Cavani is growing tired of competing with the Sweden international and could be open to a move away from the capital of all things garlic, according to the Express.
With Chelsea supposedly interested, as well as Manchester City and Arsenal, here is why they trio should do everything in their power to sign the South American forward.
Standing at just over 6ft, Cavani is a real powerhouse of a forward. He is willing to tussle with defenders to drag them out of space and he is one of the most natural goal-scorers on the big stage. To say he’s composed is a massive understatement, as he scored an incredible 104 goals in just 138 games for former club Napoli.
His move to France hasn’t been unsuccessful, as the Uruguayan has helped himself to 11 goals in 15 games, but he may now be regretting choosing the money option over the playing time.
The 26-year-old really is a special talent and is in the peak of his career, but to be unhappy at a club at this stage would be disastrous. For his sake I hope he gets a move.
