The time has come for football fans to take off their club jersey, open a nice cold beer and sit back to enjoy a footballing feast. Tomorrow sees Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic go toe-to-toe in the first leg of Portugal vs Sweden for a spot in the World Cup.
But how have the two compared on the pitch with their clubs this season, statistically?
Well in terms of goals there is only going to be one winner, and that is the former Manchester United player Ronaldo. The Portuguese star has hit 16 La Liga goals in just 13 goals this season and another eight in the Champions League, which is remarkable.
Zlatan has helped himself to eight in 12 in Lique 1, while scoring seven in four in the Champions League.
Chances created is different however, as the Swede has made 21 key passes in his league outings whereas Ronaldo has made 17.
Ronaldo has the better shot accuracy, with 50 of his 78 shots hitting the target (64%), than Zlatan, who has hit the target with 25 of his 49 efforts.
Ronaldo (77%) has a better pass completion that the PSG forward (71%) while also tallying up a better duel success – 64% to 57%.
