Can Aaron Ramsey Maintain His Blistering Start To The Season?

While Aaron Ramsey had had a terrific pre-season to add to his incredible closing stages of last seasons, even the most optimistic Arsenal fan could not have predicted at the beginning of the season the immense scoring form that he would be in. The question now is, can he keep it up for the entire season?

Many Arsenal supporters turned on Aaron Ramsey last season, insulting and criticising him as well as Arséne Wenger’s decision to stick by him. Even the fans that supported him saw him as a complementary element to the brilliant Jack Wilshere. Only, it would turn out to be the opposite. While this season Jack Wilshere has shown glimpses of his brilliant best, including a lovely brace against Marseille last week, it is the Welshman who has grabbed all of the attention with his brilliant performances matched by his unbelievable scoring record of 13 goals in 25 games so far (in all competitions).

However, there is more to Aaron Ramsey’s game this season than just goals. This year, Ramsey seems to be able to do it all: Tackle, dribble, pass, score, header and dictate play. What also makes him a constant goal-scoring threat is that he has seemingly mastered the art of late runs in the box. He is often found in the right place at just the right time. He also seems capable of playing in any position that Arséne Wenger wishes him to play in. Ramsey is simply the full package this season.

Is Ramsey ever going to stop scoring? Or is he going to become a constant threat from midfield similar to Frank Lampard for Chelsea? My guess is that if he continues to play with such confidence and the players around him keep trusting him with the ball, then there is no reason why Aaron Ramsey could not become a guaranteed scorer of at least 15 goals per season.
