So far this season Liverpool have won nine, drawn three and lost three in the Premier League and sit second in the table, five points behind leaders Arsenal. Brendan Rodgers has established a strong side but there are a few who could be growing frustrated with their lack of game time, so here are three players who the club should look to send on loan in the new year.
1) Iago Aspas
The Spaniard has really struggled to settle into the Anfield club since he arrived in the summer, having now played seven games. The 26-year-old is primarily a striker but has been deployed on the wing as a result of the blistering form of Daniel Sturridge and more recently Luis Suarez.
He has won just one of his four attempted take ons, three of his 10 headers and completed just 77% of his passes so far this term, and the Reds currently look covered on the wings. They have Victor Moses, Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho Jordan Henderson and even Suarez who can play on the flank.
2) Luis Alberto
Another Spaniard arriving in the summer was Alberto, who is also a forward, though he is most comfortable just behind the striker or on the flank.
The 21-year-old has also made seven appearances this season but is yet to complete a game. Like Aspas, there doesn’t seem to be much opportunity for him to progress and the extra game time could do him well if sent to the right club.
3) Andre Wisdom
The young defender was blossoming last year but the reinforcements over the summer has meant that he has played less than 90 minutes in the first team.
He is a fine young player and to see his progression halted is frustrating for some.
