THREE Strikers Who Could Help West Ham Get Out Of Trouble

West Ham currently find themselves just a point off the bottom of the Premier League table right now and things are looking bleak. After receiving a whipping from Championship side Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup yesterday the pressure is firmly on the Hammers to pick up their form and start scoring more goals, so I thought that I would have a look for some forwards who could potentially benefit the side.

1) Alfred Finnbogason – Heerenveen

The 24-year-old Iceland international is really showing us why he is so highly rated in Holland. The Heerenveen forward struck 28 goals in just 35 games last season, and he has followed that up with 19 in 17 this time round.

Although not the quickest, Finnbogason has proved that he has the movement, the strength and the composure in front of goal to score consistently at the top level.

2)  Danny Ings – Burnley

Although the 21-year-old’s career never really took off at Bournemouth, he scored consistently during his loan spell for Dorchester Town in 2010/11 and has been scoring ever since, albeit on a small scale.

This season though he has fired Burnley to second in the Championship, creating a formidable partnership with former Wolves striker Sam Vokes. The latter has scored 11 goals in his 28 games, but Ings has struck the back of the net on 18 occasions in his 26.

He’s got the pace, the coolness and the ability in the air to come in and really boost the West Ham attack.

3) Vincent Aboubakar – Lorient

Although you may not have heard of the 21-year-old Cameroon international, he has scored 10 goals in 19 games for his new side Lorient. It may command a bigger fee as he signed in the summer, but I believe it would be worth it for what he offers.

Standing at over 6ft, Aboubakar would fit in with the way Sam Allardyce likes to play football, although the manager may not be there for much longer if their fans get their way.
