Three Everton Players Who Need To Pull Their Socks Up

Everton are flying this season and currently sit fifth in the league having lost just two games. There is room for improvement though, so here are three players who I feel should pull their socks up.

1) Arouna Kone

After following Roberto Martinez to Goodison Park from Everton the striker has now played five times in the Premier League this season. He has failed to score in all of those games and looked as though he wanted to be elsewhere.

Kone loves chasing down loose balls but his endeavour sometimes hinders his overall performance.

2) Steven Naismith

The Scot has 13 appearances to his name and has looked limp in a lot of those. His pass success stands at just 66% for the season and he’s made just three key passes.

Although he can play just about anywhere in midfield, he doesn’t really specialise in anything and it makes it hard for him to shine, but having kept a close eye on him over the last handful of games I would suggest that he needs to pick his form up.

3) Nikica Jelavic

The Croatia international scored twice in the cup recently but is still yet to score in the league, despite playing nine times.

Unlike Lukaku, who can create things out of nowhere, Jelavic relies on those around him to feed him chances. As a result has had had reduced play time and his goals in the league have dried up.
