Swansea have so far found it tough to find the right balance between Premier League football and cup competitions this season and currently sit 13th in the league table just four points from safety. Here are three players who need to up their game for the remainder of the season.
1) Michel Vorm
Last season Vorm was seen by many as one of the strongest goalkeepers in the league. Now, after 13 appearances and only five clean sheets, some are starting to wonder. His replacement Tremmel has been far worse, but as Vorm is number one I thought that I would stick him in the list, especially as his punch success stands at just 46%.
Hopefully the players in front of him start to sort themselves out defensively and Vorm can return to the fine form that he displayed last season.
2) Alex Pozuelo
With 18 appearances now to his name in the Premier League this season and no goals, some are starting to look at Pozuelo as a liability. He has made 16 key passes, but he has claimed just one assist and has looked indecisive going forward.
3) Wayne Routledge
Another player who we are used to seeing strong displays from is Wayne Routledge, who has racked up 17 appearances so far this term. After five goals last season he is still yet to score, and has made just 18 key passes – the fourth best in the squad.
His main downfall this season though is his dribbling – he has won just 12 of his 47 attempted take-ons (26%) and a measly 3/22 headers (14%).
