THREE Reasons Why Arsenal Should Forget About Signing Alvaro Morata On Loan

With Arsenal supposedly looking for some fresh faces in their striker department, it comes as no surprise that the Daily Mail are reporting Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata is a target. Here are three reasons why they should forget about signing him though.

1) the fee

The reports suggest that the fee that the Gunners have to stump up is £1.7m, which in today’s market could go some way towards landing a big name player, even if it’s in wages. For me, that fee is far too much to pay to take the player on loan for a few months.

2) established

Following on from the last point, Morata is hardly an established name. He’s impressed at Real Madrid but has never been relied upon as a main player to the side, something which he will surely be should he arrive in north London.

The fact that Walcott has been ruled out for the season and Nicklas Bendtner is also out will surely require some reinforcements. Olivier Giroud is the only viable option up top right now, as a centre-forward anyway, and for me Wenger has to add with a big name.

Diego Costa, for instance.

3) Podolski

When I said Arsenal didn’t have another option to Giroud, I overlooked Podolski as a winger. However, the German is comfortable as a striker and has a pretty decent scoring record for both club and country.

He has scored three in three this season in the Premier League.
