According to the Metro, Borussia Dortmund playmaker Ilkay Gundogan is open to a move away from the club, although the potential destination in so far is unknown. The Germany international has been remarkable over the last year, despite being injured for almost the majority of the season through injury.
The Dortmund midfielder is certainly one of the biggest names on the European stage and a move to Manchester United would be a remarkable piece of business for the club, as he would surely be the talisman in the middle of the park.
United have struggled in midfield this season and are in need of a player who holds a lot of energy, who can play box to box and who can create opportunities to change a game from nothing. Gundogan has that, and more.
The 23-year-old played 28 league goals last season and created 18 chances for his team-mates as well as scoring three goals.
He sits in the middle of the park and runs the game with his vision and technique on the ball. He completed 87% of his passes last season and won 51 of his 64 of his tackles.
For me, United should be doing everything they can to tempt him to Old Trafford.
