Deadline Day: 3 Players Who Chelsea Should Be Making A Move For

With Chelsea sat nicely in the Premier League table and already having secured moves for Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah, the Blues will be confident for a strong second half of the season. For me they could still strengthen though, so here are three players who I think they should be moving for today.

1) Jackson Martinez

The striker is someone who could give Chelsea a different option up top, and I would suggest getting rid of Demba Ba or Fernando Torres to make space.

The Porto frontman scored 34 goals last season and has 15 in 21 so far this season, which is a solid return. For me he has all the attributes to be a success, and I would be looking to make a move.

2) Luke Shaw

A boyhood Chelsea fan, I see him as Ashley Cole’s long-term successor, but I feel that the west London outfit may need to move sooner rather than later as I’m sure there is a glut of agents and representatives watching his every move.

He’s an attacking player who thrives on getting forward, but he’s also defensively-sound for such a young player.

3) Diego Costa

The Brazilian-born striker has been in marvellous form this season scoring 25 goals in only 28 games. He is a feisty player who loves to make a nuisance of himself and it has worked to his advantage on many occasions this term.

He can score goals with either foot and is strong in the air, and he’s also a creative player. He is a physical presence and is on top of his game, and for me he would probably be my number 1 target if I was Mourinho.
