Chelsea Need To Make This Striker Their Number 1 Target

Wayne Rooney may split opinions across the globe as a person, but there can be few people who have a genuine reason to doubt his talent. He has proved to be a remarkable player since the day who stood up and pinged his shot past David Seaman as a young boy in an Everton shirt, and I would argue that he is already a Manchester United legend. But, being a Chelsea fan, I am a little jealous and I want him at Stamford Bridge.

I only say such a thing because of the rumours that are flying around west London about him joining the club, as it got me thinking if there is anyone else better suited to the striker role at Chelsea.

Rooney has everything in his locker and I am hoping that Jose Mourinho goes all out for him in the summer.

He creates chances, he works hard and is flexible in his position. Most importantly though he scores goals, and a wide range of types as well. He can strike a ball from distance, he has scored tap ins and is strong in the air, a few attributes that the Blues need.

He’s also a strong physical presence, which I believe we need to lead the line. No more average strikers like Samuel Eto’o Demba Ba or Fernando Torres please Jose, make Rooney your number one target.
