Jose Mourinho isn’t renowned for his work with young players, but he can spot a talented youngster from afar and knows how to bring them into the first team squad – just look at what he has done with Eden Hazard this season.
It seems as though the Portuguese coach has had an eye on Thibaut Courtois for some time however, as the Mirror report he has watched the keeper since he arrived at Atletico Madrid, and that he will fight to keep him at Chelsea for the near future.
The same reports suggest that Real Madrid are lining up a move for the goalkeeper, using reports that Mourinho had compiled himself when in charge of the La Liga club, but I think they need to keep the 22-year-old.
He has established himself as one of the most exciting goalkeepers in Europe and should they lose him to Madrid then I really feel as though they will struggle to replace current number 1 Petr Cech.
The Czech international has been first choice between the sticks for a number of years now and is widely recognised as one of the best in the Premier League, so to replace that you need a talented player. Courtois is just that.
