Liverpool: Sell Aspas, Offload Allen And Sign Midfielder With 12 Goals This Season

When Kenny Daglish was relieved of his managerial duties at Liverpool a few seasons back, Brendan Rodgers was not the man I wanted to replace him with. There was no real reason apart from his inexperience in the topflight, and I felt as though someone in the mould of Roberto Martinez would have suited better. Needless to say I was gutted when he took the post at Everton, but the blow has been softened by our [Liverpool] form this season.

There are a few things I feel I could pick on though, and I will run you through them now.

The first is the signing of Iago Aspas, which seems to have been a complete waste of time. The Spaniard arrived in the summer and made a string of early appearances, but after an unimpressive stint in the side he has hardly featured.

This summer I would look to get rid of the forward and accept that he isn’t going to make us a stronger side.

Another player who I would get rid of is Allen, who I also consider a flop. With Gerrard, Lucas and Jordan Henderson all in the middle, Allen has hardly featured this season. He is a player who I would probably use if my team were a couple of goals up as he keeps possession well, but there are plenty of other players who can do that.

One man I would be looking to recruit is Ivan Rakitic, who is currently playing at Sevilla. He has scored 12 goals and claimed 13 assists in all competitions and for me would fit brilliantly in the side.

Other than that though, I have been incredibly impressed with what Rodgers is doing.
