There are a huge amount of names being thrown around in regards to summer deals already, but when you filter just the forwards it seems like the same few players keep coming up. Moves for Edinson Cavani, Mario Mandzukic and Jackson Martinez have all been mooted, but there is a man closer to home who I would like to see Arsenal chase after this season has finished.
Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez is a player who I have always admired, for a couple of reasons too.
Firstly because of the way he has just got on with his game whenever he is called upon. The Mexican has had to accept being a bit-part player over the years at Manchester United but has continued ploughing away and scoring goals – he now has 57 United goals under his belt from his 141 games.
Rather than looking to sign a creative forward to link up with Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla, I would look to snap up Hernandez and stick him on the penalty spot. The amount of chances that the Gunners create is crying out for a poacher to come in and make the most of those.
So, if you’re reading this, Arsene, please go and find a way of signing him. Please.
