Chelsea are still in the running for the Premier League title and also the Champions League. The return of Jose Mourinho has been successful to date, but there is still some deadwood in the side. Here are three players who the Blues should be offloaded in the summer.
1) Fernando Torres
The Spain international is not the striker Chelsea need to challenge for the big trophies. If they had a top-class forward instead of him this season then I firmly believe they would have won the league, the Champions League – or at least reached the final – and would have won another trophy such as the FA Cup or League Cup.
2) Demba Ba
Demba Ba has made just two starts in the Premier League this season, which tells you that he is not a main player at Stamford Bridge. For me he is deadwood, and I would like to see him shipped out alongside Torres.
We need a player in the mould of Diego Costa, not player who has struggled continuously in the Premier League.
3) Ashley Cole
Cole is out of contract in the summer and I think he should be let go before Mourinho goes in for Luke Shaw. The Southampton youngster is perfect for the west London club, in my eyes, and I think he should be brought into the club.
Cesar Azpilicueta has done a fine job on the left side of defence, and I think it should be him and Shaw to go forward.
