THREE Reasons Why Chelsea WILL Win The Champions League

Chelsea held La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid last night in their Champions League semi-final. They are now two games from the trophy, so here are three reasons why they will win the tournament.

1) Jose Mourinho

The Portuguese manager is someone who knows exactly how to get what he wants, and looks to be putting that into place right now.

He has had past experience in the competition with Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid, as well as Chelsea, and won it with the former two.

He set his side up to shut Atletico Madrid out last night and did just that, by sitting deep, closing their opponents and chasing back down the flanks.

With him in charge there is every chance of the Blues winning the league.

2) Defence of champions

The Blues’ are built on a solid backline, and although John Terry is now out for the season from the injury picked up last night, David Luiz is an able deputy and will continue their stringent campaign.

Cesar Azpilicueta is one of the most in-form full-backs in the Premier League and Ashley Cole looked solid in his return, but Gary Cahill has been one of the best centre-halves in Europe this campaign.

3) Closing in on final

Win their next two Champions League games, and they’re champions. It’s as simple as that. Chelsea host Atletico in the second leg having drawn 0-0 which gives them every chance of winning the final. Then they are one game away from victory in a neutral ground.
