Southampton Pair On The Sight Of Big Clubs – What Could They Offer?

The progression of Southampton football club has been a real rags to riches story with the club lucky to be in existence a few years ago. Now the club is celebrating the dawn of a new era by sitting in 8th in the Premier League table and heading into their third successive Premier League season. However they may have to do this without two of their stand out players this season.

It has been rumoured that Southampton could be losing Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana in the summer period after an impressive 2013/14 season. The pair has asserted themselves in the league making them some of the best players in their positions in England. And both are going to be big names travelling with England to Brazil for the World Cup.

Currently the future of Lallana and Shaw will be kept under wraps by the club after the World Cup but with sides like Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal all chasing the pairs signature. For the Saints keeping them at the club would be a real challenge.

Luke Shaw who was chased in the summer by Chelsea looked almost certain to move no deal ended up coming about now putting him in the sights of other clubs to swoop. Shaw has bloomed early as a footballer and shown himself to be a solid defender and should go for an estimated 13 million euro.

Southampton’s captain Adam Lallana will be the player highly sought after showing his ability to score and set up attacking opportunities down the left side throughout the season. He has also cemented a left midfielder spot in the England national side.

Lallana is heavily rumoured for a move to emerging title threats Liverpool with a return to the champions league will be looking to strengthen their squad. However Lallana has attracted interest from many big clubs and should go for a possible 10 million euro.

Currently Southampton will continue to house the two players that made the PFA team of the season in Lallana and Shaw but it is almost certain that both will be relocating come the summer transfer period.
