For player to be considered a success, he must be at the right club at the right time, and then shine individually. How many times have we seen a world class player make a switch to a club and fail to fit in, and ultimately be written off? Well, Christian Tello isn’t ready for that to happen with him, as reports suggest he wants out of Barcelona if manager Tata Martino remains in charge next season.
Naturally, this has sparked interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool. But what could he offer a potential new club?
Tello is rapid, and has the skilful, quick feet needed to stand out when you’re a winger on the big stage.
He has only managed two starts at Barcelona this season, but has been used as a substitute 19 times in La Liga. In that time, he has only managed to create two assists and score one goal, though if given time in the side I am sure he would succeed.
His distribution is superb – he has completed nearly 82% of his passes this season – and considering the amount of through balls and defence-splitting passes he plays that is some achievement.
Tello would be a strong signing for any Premier League club, and this video will show you a little bit more about why.
