Manchester United are probably getting prepared for next season, having seen their current campaign fizzle out a couple of weeks back. United are sat down in seventh, but with rumours of Luis van Gaal taking over there has been whispers of new players coming into the club. One of those is Marco Reus, who is apparently the focus of a £40m bid from the Old Trafford club which will be placed this week.
But what could he offer?
Reus is a player who can play anywhere in the forward positions, but is primarily a left midfielder. He has huge amounts of pace, he has exceptionally quick feet and is one of the most creative players in Europe.
This season Reus has played 29 Bundesliga games to date, notching 16 goals. He also has another five goals in the Champions League. But it is his inventiveness that catches the eye. Between the two mentioned competitions, he has claimed 15 assists.
With Shinji Kagawa, Juan Mata and Adnan Januzaj already at the club, Reus would only be adding to an extraordinary front line. And that’s without mentioning Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.
Here’s a video to show you just what he is about.
