With news that Louis van Gaal will be the new Manchester United boss, here are three players that were previously on the fringe of the first team that will be delighted a new manager has come in.
1) Shinji Kagawa
The Japan international has struggled to prove himself since he arrived at Old Trafford and I think it’s a shame that he is continually played out of position.
We have seen what he can do in glimpses, like the couple of games at the end of the season when he and Juan Mata sparked off each other, but apart from that he has been firmly in the background.
With van Gaal coming in I expect him to thrive in a central role.
2) Javier Hernandez
Chicharito was a superb player when he arrived at the club back in 2010 and he scored 20 goals in his first season. However he has since fallen down the pecking order with both Fergie and David Moyes and has only scored 39 in the 107 games that followed.
He is one of the most convincing finishers in Europe and it is a waste for him to be benched, so I hope van Gaal sees that.
3) Nani
When Moyes arrived last summer one of the first things he did was tie Nani down to a long term deal, but the sweet start soon went bitter.
The Portugal international managed just 11 games for the club this season and looked like he would be on his way out once again.
He has everything you could want in a winger and he could be in for a second chance under the new boss.
