Costa Injured: THREE Strikers That Chelsea Should Move For Instead Of Crocked Atletico Madrid Star

Diego Costa limped off the field in Atletico Madrid’s title-winning tie against Barcelona at the weekend and looks set to miss out on the Champions League final. The commentators also questioned his fitness for the World Cup, but until we find out the full extent of his injury we can only speculate. Here are three players who Chelsea should move for if Costa’s injury is long-term.

1) Karim Benzema – Real Madrid

Although heavily linked with Arsenal, the France international would be a strong fit at Stamford Bridge. He ticks the box of a physical presence, he doesn’t waste his energy defending but can link up with the attackers around him.

He has scored 44 goals and claimed 34 assists in his last 101 games for the capital club.

2) Mario Mandzukic – Bayern Munich

The arrival of Robert Lewandowski will surely result in less playing time for the Croatia international and it would be a shame if he warmed the bench. He has scored 48 goals in his 88 appearances for Munich in the two seasons he has been there.

3) Edin Dzeko – Manchester City

Dzeko is also a physical player who has an impressive goal tally. This season he had to take the role of Sergio Aguero as the little Argentine has been injured, and Dzeko scored 26 goals in 45 games, helping City to the Premier League title and the Carling Cup.

He also has a good history in the Premier League.
