Gerrard Praises ‘Scary’ England Youngsters – Why Sterling Will Stand Out At The World Cup

Steven Gerrard made his Liverpool debut aged just 18 and has gone on to be one of the most idolised player that ever played for the club. He has also earned 109 caps for the England national team, so you would have thought that he knows what he talks about when expressing his views on young English talent.

The Liverpool skipper has described the young talent in England’s World Cup for Brazil as scary, and I think his team-mate Raheem Sterling is the one who will have the biggest impact at the tournament.

The Reds’ winger is still only 19, though he has experience in three Premier League seasons with the club, and a full campaign last time out. He played 34 games and scored 10 goals, but it was often his energetic approach to the game that allowed the Reds to spring into action and allowed Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge to score their goals.

He is always looking to take defenders on and his speed will trouble a lot of full-backs this summer. I am sure of that.
