Rio Ferdinand has had a fruitful career but it seems to be winding down now. After 12 years at Manchester United the former England skipper has been released by the club and will search for a new challenge – something that may land him a gig at Hull City, according to reports.
I think that would be a superb move for all parties.
Ferdinand may not possess the pace that he used to, but he can still read the game as well as anyone and would be the ideal partner for Curtis Davies.
Both are impressive in the air and both like to play the ball on the floor, so to pair them up at the back of Bruce’s organised Hull side could prove a massive success.
Ferdinand would get to continue his Premier League playing days and work with one of Manchester United’s highest ever rated centre-backs, which could help him improve his game.
For me it is a win-win and I would like to see it happen.
