Juventus chief gives update on Manchetser United’s target

Manchester United’s struggle to acquire the services of Arturo Vidal is now believed to hit a potential stumbling block. Juventus sporting director has now given his verdict well and truely clear according to the Gianluca Di Marzio website.

The trusted and respectable source claimed that Marotta is adamant about keeping the 27 year old Chilean midfielder and doesn’t wart to part with club’s prized asset despite interest from elsewhere. Moreover the club executive has blamed the media, which he believes to have linked the player with a move to Manchester United.

The 57 year old also mentioned that there has been no negotiations with United for Vidal, the latter who is now nearing his full fitness. It must be remembered that Vidal had a surgery just weeks before the World Cup but featured for Jorge Sampaoli’s side in Sambaland in the South American’s route to the round of sixteen where they narrow lost to the hosts in a penalty shootout.

Marotta said, “Vidal is fine, he resumed working and the knee is fully functional. He’s at disposal of the team. There have been the usual rumours about him, but he has never been put on the transfer market and there has never been a negotiation. These are the usual commonplaces created by the media that have no real confirmations.”

Vidal had earlier renewed his contract with Bianconeri till 2017 last December by committing his future to the old Lady. New manager Massimiliano Allegri has also urged the player to stay at Turin as reported by the DAILY MAIL.

Allegri told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “He (Vidal) is like a caged lion. He would like to play, but he needs to train more. Arturo has a great spirit. It is normal that there are rumours about him: the great teams search for the great players. But Vidal is already in a great team.”

Manchester united though are likely to temp Juventus with an offer before the summer transfer window shuts and with a sizeable transfer kitty still available, it would be interesting to set United’s approach is getting their hands on teh long term ransfer target.
