Champions Legaue winner asks to join Manchester United

Barring the gloomy 1-2 reversal at the hands of Swansea lat weekend, Manchester United fans can now look forward to the remaining part of the transfer window with renewed optimism.  If reports are to be believed, then Argentine winger Angel Di Maria has personally asked Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti for a transfer move away from the club to join English giants Manchester United.  It is believed that Di Maria is not able to muster a starting eleven spot for the Galacticos after the arrival of Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich and James Rodriguez from French side Monaco.

Di Maria had been heavily linked to Paris St Germain and almost joined the French Champions on a record deal before the Parsisians pulled out at the last moment thanks to Real’s astronomical demands for the player. Moreover, the Ligue 1 champions were also forced to withdraw their interest due to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations. However it is now believed that Di Maria wants to force his move to Manchester United and his latest actions hows that he is getting desperate to play for the Old Trafford outfit.

Ancelotti confirmed, “The player has requested a transfer this summer. He rejected the club’s offer to stay at Madrid, so we are looking for a solution. We will find a solution for Di Maria before the end of the transfer window, but he remains a Madrid player for now. We are in a situation that the player has to fix himself. I’m surprised that it seems as if we are not all in agreement about the situation, but this is not the case. We are all on the same line here.”

The 26 year old winger Madrid from Benfica in the summer of 2010. Despite having a contract with the Capital club till the summer of 2018, but could be available for a transfer fee in the region of €60 million, reports GOAL. Louis Van Gaal has already reiterated United’s need for reinforcements in the transfer market and it would be interesting to see if Di Maria lands at Old Trafford despite United not being in the Champions League this season after a devastating 2013-14 season.

I wouldn’t say we desperately need him. he would be a welcome addition and a boost to the team but what we desperately need is a holding midfielder and another defender
