Barcelona’s new teen sensation Munir El Haddadi has been creating some waves off late and there are a host of clubs behind the talented attacker. It is being reported that the forward has a low release clause of close to £9.4m, which the Gunners have met and the deal will be wrapped up during the January transfer window.

Barcelona’s ethos means that the academy graduates will not be overlooked at any point of time, but the presence of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez could mean that the 19-year old’s chances will be few and far in the next couple of years at least. The Spaniard has had an impressive start to his senior career as he scored on his debut against Elche following a good pre-season. He followed it up with an international debut against Macedonia and could get a good run of games in the next few weeks as the likes of Neymar, Pedro and Rafinha aren’t match fit yet and Luis Suarez is banned until next month.

Barcelona will look to offer the youngster an improved contract as Premier League giants Arsenal are closing in on him. If the Gunners match the fee indicated in the player’s contract, which is his Barcelona B contract, then Barcelona will be helpless as it’ll be up to El Haddadi to stay or leave.

A potential move to Arsenal might tempt El Haddadi as Arsene Wenger is someone who sticks with the youth and the Gunners are short up front as well. The striker has been promoted from the Barcelona B side to the senior team and if the future performances are similar to his first few games, then there is no doubt that the Blaugrana will tie him down to a lucrative new deal.

Luis Enrique decided to loan out another bright prospect Gerard Deulofeu to Sevilla this summer despite the 20-year old impressing at Everton last season. The same might happen with El Haddadi if at all he is tied down to a new deal. El Haddadi has Moroccan roots but started his youth career at CD Galapagar before moving to Atletico Madrid in 2010. He  has been at Barcelona since 2011 and scored 4 goals in 11 appearances for the Barcelona B side before being promoted to the senior team.
