Report: £43m Man Wants A Long Term Association With Manchester United

On-loan Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has revealed the happiness in scoring his first goal for the club. The Colombian international scored in the 62nd minute and helped United in picking up their first back-to-back victories this season. He spoke to MUTV and said, “All strikers need goals, and for me there was a little bit of relief to score my first goal.

“I hope to score many in the future. It was amazing that my first goal was at Old Trafford, I enjoyed it with all the fans and I want to say thank you to God, my teammates, all the staff and the coaches.”

The 28-year old was signed on-loan from Monaco for close to £16m and hopes that the move is made permanent in the summer, “Me and my family are happy here, and we would like to stay for many years at Manchester United.”

Louis Van Gaal made him a deadline day signing to add more quality upfront and following a slow start, Falcao will want to make the most in Rooney’s absence. With only two competitions to play in this season, Falcao needs to make every game count in order to show that he deserves a permanent contract.

Manchester United will need to pay £43m to sign the striker permanently if he performs well this season. Falcao isn’t 100% match fit yet which showed against Everton as he was little bit rusty in front of goal. The goal came from what appeared to be a shot-turned-assist from Angel Di Maria, but other than that, Falcao failed to test Tim Howard. He was replaced in the 73 minute by 18-year old striker James Wilson.

Falcao has appeared in 4 games for Manchester United this season and has 231 minutes under his belt. He has one goal and two assists to his name.
