German International To Replace Another German For Arsenal In January: £30m Move On The Cards

Mesut Ozil has been a serious dampner for Arsenal ever since signing from Real Madrid on the deadline day of the transfer window last season. The German play-maker has failed to live up to his price tag and the burgeoning expectations of the Emirates faithful. Hardly has Ozil set the ground running. Last week he picked up an injury which meant he would be out of action till the end of the year. And now English tabloid DAILY MAIL have published a story that the Gunners could be inclined to sell 25 year old.

The report claims that Bayern Munich are interested and manager Arsene Wenger might be well off to see the back of a flop multim million signing. Also the £42.5m is seriously unhappy as he hasn’t been able to play in his preferred number ten role. Wenger has used him out wide, which has clearly hindered his game style.

Arsenal would however replace the German with his national team mate- Sami Khedria who is reportedly unhappy at Real Madrid. Khedira had asked Real to increase his wages after winning the World Cup in Brazil, but the club has failed to do so. Khedira is in his last year of his contract and a move away from Bernabeu is clearly impending. Real however, wouldn’t want to lose the player on a free transfer next summer, thus a move in January is likely. Arsenal had significant interest in the central midfielder throughout the summer but a bis failed to materialize. Thus Wenger would jump at the opportunity to make some good profit and also get Khedira to replace Ozil in the upcoming winter transfer market.
