Manchester United Injury News

Manchester United have suffered a fresh injury blow as their goalkeeper David De Gea has suffered a dislocated finger in training. According to reports, he will be out for four weeks if the injury is serious.

The Spanish team doctors will assess the situation and decide if he will be with the team or sent back to England. A statement on the national team website read, “David de Gea was forced to stop training after suffering an injury to the fifth finger of his right hand.

“Having suffered a similar situation in the past, De Gea will remain with the squad and will wait to see how he improves.”

The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper has been in superb form this season and has been United’s best player after a certain Angel Di Maria. His form has made him the 1st choice goalie in the national team setup as he has pushed Iker Casillas to the bench.

The injury took place when De Gea was attempting to save a low shot by striker Paco Alcacer in a training session ahead of today’s friendly against Belarus.

The injury will be a blow for Louis Van Gaal as De Gea’s understudy Anders Lindegaard hasn’t appeared in the league yet. This could cause a potential problem as their defence hasn’t been impressive and will play ahead of a keeper with whom they don’t have any understanding whatsoever.

United next face Arsenal at the Emirates on 22nd November in a clash which will be a key game for both the sides. United are yet to win a single game away from home and are likely to be without the likes De Gea, Marcos Rojo and Radamel Falcao for the game. Arsenal will feel that they have the upper hand as they’ll face a weakened Manchester United side without in-form De Gea and will want to increase the gap to four points between the two sides.
