Good news for Manchester United as trio are set to return

Manchester United have received a huge injury boost in the form of Marcos Rojo as the center back returned to training this week. The Argentine international suffered from a shoulder injury in the game against Manchester City in the 1st week of November and has missed the last two games. The 24-year old isn’t match fit yet which means he could miss the next game against Hull City this Saturday but could be in contention for his side’s clash against Stoke on December 2nd; exactly a month after suffering the injury.

Rojo was set to miss out six weeks due to the injury but has recuperated well. United have been unlucky with the number of injuries they have had but with an international break this month, they were somewhat fortunate as they played only a few games with a makeshift defence.

Jonny Evans and Ander Herrera appear for the u21 side; could face Hull City

Louis Van Gaal will also have the option of recalling Jonny Evans to the 1st team squad as the 26-year old appeared in the Manchester United u21 side. Evans played 64 minutes before being substituted against Blackburn on Tuesday. He is slowly regaining match fitness and revealed, “It’s nice to get 60-odd minutes under my belt. It’s been a long time coming. I didn’t expect to be out this long so I’m pleased to get some minutes. I thought the lads played well and it was an enjoyable game to be part of.

“I think the manager will have to assess that [a first-team recall] and also the fitness coaches. I’ve been training for a week or two now but it’s taking me time to get my fitness up as I’ve been out for so long.”

Spaniard Ander Herrera too appeared after missing the last four games and played the whole ninety minutes. The duo could be in contention to come off the bench if required but might not be fit enough to start the game.
