Manchester United aim to seal triple transfer deal in January

There is no doubt that Manchester United are going to strengthen their squad in the upcoming January transfer window. Louis Van Gaal would be determined to spend a sizeable transfer kitty to bring in a centre back to strengthen the defense as the Red Devils would be determined for a strong second half of the season. Reports from English Media outlet DAILY STAR however, have claimed that United are also looking to buy attacking players in the winter transfer market.

Shaqiri

One of the names that is doing the rounds is Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri, who is frustrated at the German side over the lack of game time on the pitch. Swiss media outlet Blick have however reported yesterday that Bayern are willing to let go the player for just €15m. Liverpool are also interested in Shaqiri and it would interesting to see if both the fierce rivals are involved in a duel off the field too.

Another player whom United are linked is Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva who is also wanted by Real Madrid. However, according to the same report from Daily Star, Real won’t be making any transfers in January thus a move for the player could be ruled out. Galacticos President Florentino Perez said, “Except for extraordinary circumstances, no signings will be made in the January transfer window and now there is nothing.”

Thus United could swoop for Lucas as he is just the kind of player they need, someone who can screen the back four and create from the deep acting as a play-maker in the regista role. The Old Trafford side would also swoop for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus who has a host of clubs interested after him.

In an interesting turn of events, Dortmund are looking to sign Inter Milan hit man Stephan El Shawaaray, leaving the likes of United, Arsenal and Liverpool with a major boost in their pursuit of the German International.
