Manchester United receive massive boost ahead of weekend’s clash vs Aston Villa

Manchester United have received a massive boost before their weekend’s clash against Aston Villa as summer signing Marcos Rojo is set to return from injury. DAILY STAR reports that the Argentine defender is set to return after missing several weeks, thanks to a dislocated shoulder from the first week of November. Louis Van Gaal’s side are in a great run of form having won their last six league matches and head to Villa Park just eight points behind leaders Chelsea.

The 24 year old has impressed since his summer move to Old Trafford and has returned to full training and is also expected to make the staring eleven against Villa as United would be searching for yet another win against Paul Lambert’s struggling side. Rojo has also been in good form and his return in the heart of defense would come as a huge boost to the Red Devils.

It was believed that youngster was in line to face fierce rivals Liverpool, the clash which United won 3-0 but Van Gaal didn’t want to risk the versatile defender. Van Gaal had said to MUTV, “Rojo felt something yesterday, and I didn’t want to take a risk. If a player is complaining about a knock, I ask whether or not they want to play, and that’s the end of it. So, I played Phil Jones today.”

United have also been forced to field a makeshift back-line in the past few weeks with Anton Valencia and Ashley Young being played in the full backs role.
