Deal In Summer? Arsenal Ready To Wait To Clinch A Deal For Manchester United Target

Recently, The Gunners have been performing quite well and Wenger would love to keep that momentum going further to compete at the top level. Recent reports indicate that Wenger wants Morgan Schneiderlin at Emirates Stadium as a successor to skipper Mikel Arteta, who is out with a long-term injury. These reports also suggest that the move may not happen this January and Arsenal are ready to wait till end of the season for the Frenchman’s signature.

Tottenham and Manchester United have shown interest in the 25 year old midfield powerhourse too. Wenger’s defensive midfield problems have eased in recent weeks since the decision to start youngster Francis Coquelin has worked out perfectly and the 23 year old has impressed. The powerful midfielder has recently broken through into the starting eleven and captured a place in the absence of the sidelined Arteta and Jack Wilshere, which has given Wenger some confidence that he can manage with his current midfield options till the end of the season.

Schneiderlin is close to Spurs boss Maurico Pochettino, yet, Arsenal right now seem  the likely club to complete the deal with Southampton. The south coast club, who are currently in third place in the Premier League table are unhappy with the way Spurs made the Pochettino switch last summer, making the relationship between the two clubs a bit complicated. Arsenal, meanwhile, completed a good deal for young versatile defender Calum Chambers this summer and have had good previous relations with the club. Other renowned superstars who have been signed by The Gunners from Southampton are Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, which makes the possibility of this deal even more stronger.
