MASSIVE: Arsenal, Manchester United And Liverpool To Profit From Dortmund’s Crisis?

Mats Hummels linked With Arsenal

Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United have been in the hunt for more accomplished defenders since the start of this season. The rival clubs are at the moment, not only competing for trophies, but also for a Champions League spot. The race is intense and the outcome is uncertain. Now, in order to strengthen their defensive lines, both clubs are trying their best to sign more defenders.

The English clubs have been continuously linked with Germany’s World Cup winning defender Mats Hummels and the Gunners were even rumoured to have prepared a deadline day swoop for him. A deal did not work out and Hummels stayed with the German outfit, for the time being. Infact, he was one of the players who attempted to calm down an angry group of Dortmund’s supporters, following their 1-0 loss to Augsburg.

The possibility of the German leaving at the end of the season is quite high. There is a real danger that Dortmund might get relegated from the Bundesliga this season after Klopp’s side has failed to produce results, despite good performances. It’s astonishing to think such a thing could happen to a club which was contesting for the Champions League trophy, just a couple of years ago.

Their recent loss to Augusburg was shocking and saw fans angrily react towards the players, despite having so many talented individuals at the club. Overall, it has been a really disappointing season for the German outfit and the relegation factor may come into play in deciding the fate of the superstars that the club possesses at the moment. If such big clubs and other European giants are prepared to “splash the cash” in the summer, we could see a lot of high quality players make the move away from the club, in order to explore new challenges, including the English Premier League.
