Jose Mourinho’s team selection has sparked debate already in the Premier League this season. He is slowly forming what he considers his best side, so here are three that I think he should send out on loan in January and the reasons why:
1) Nathan Ake
The 18-year-old defender has made six appearances for the club so far in his short career, but the back three quarters of the squad seems to be sorted in terms of personnel.
The Netherland U21 man should be sent out to gain some much needed experience.
2) Kevin de Bruyne
The Belgian has fallen out of favour with Jose Moruinho and was not included in the Blues’ Champions League squad. His playmaking efforts were supposedly not appreciated and there has been talk of the little attacker leaving the club in January.
However, the 22-year-old has bags of potential and the club could rue letting him go permanently, so perhaps a loan away for the rest of the season would be a better bet.
3) Demba Ba
It looks as though Mourinho is going to be recruiting a new frontman in the new year, and if that’s the case then Ba has little chance of being involved. He is already struggling to get a game and Mourinho has even selected Andre Schurrle – a winger – ahead of the former Newcastle striker up front.
A move back to St James’ Park wouldn’t be the craziest deal in the world.
