Aaron Ramsey is on fire right now. Not literally, but his performances have left us all wondering what on earth the Wales international has eaten over the summer. His winning goal against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday evening has made people really stand up and take notice of what the Gunners are doing.
But how do the statistics compare in regards of Ramsey’s performances?
The 22-year-old has now played 10 Premier League games this season and has scored six goals. He also has five goals in other competitions which rounds his tally off as 11 goals in 17 goals, which is the same amount that he had scored in the previous five seasons at the Emirates combined.
He has also made more chances than at this point last season, with 13 key passes in his 10 games compared to his nine last season.
His shot accuracy has improved dramatically – this season it stands at 72% whereas last season it was 36% last season.
His pass accuracy has fallen slightly from 89% to 86% but I’m sure Wenger won’t mind if he carries on how he has been playing.
The confidence that the midfielder holds right now is brilliant to watch and it’s nice to see him enjoying life back in his preferred central areas rather than on the right.
