Arsenal are slowly incorporating a spine of German players into their side. Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil are the trio who are currently key players in the side, and the Gunners also hold Serge Gnabry, Gedion Zelalem and Thomas Eisfeld on the fringes. Now the Metro are reporting that there could be another arriving in north London in the shape of Julian Draxler, although not in January.
The reports say that the Schalke playmaker has confirmed his interest in a future switch, but where would he fit in with the current crop?
Draxler is a player who can play on either wing or in the middle just behind the forward. He is a quick. skilful player who is lethal in and around the box – He has scored twice in the Champions League and once in the Bundesliga, as well as making 11 key passes.
He has had 15 shots at goal already, although only seven of them have hit the target, and he has won 52 of his take ons, which is a percentage of 75%.
He is at his most danerous when operating on the left and cutting inside, so it may be a case of him, Ozil and Santi Cazorla switching between the attacking options behind Olivier Giroud. All three have the ability to float around the positions and create chances, and should he make a move then the 20-year-old could really be the final piece to the puzzle.
This video should tell you a bit more about the forward.
