With Arsenal seven points clear at the top of the Premier League and playing some marvellous football, Gunners will be expecting their men to ease past Hull at the Emirates tomorrow night, despite the fact the Tigers beat Liverpool 3-1 at the weekend. It won’t be an easy game, however, so here are a few things I think Wenger has to do to beat them.
Hull are a side who know they can’t match a lot of teams in the league in terms of quality, so they sit back and let the opposition hold the ball. They wait until there is a gap and then they spring forward, something which Arsenal will have to deal with.
To conquer that, I would stick Mikel Arteta in the middle and push Aaron Ramsey out to the right. It would give Ramsey more of a creative freedom while Arteta and Mathieu Flamini keep the middle tight.
The next thing is I would rest Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman is on fire right now but is starting to look a little jaded, so to unleash Theo Walcott at the sluggish Hull defence could be an effective move.
To conclude my brief pre match analysis, I would play Arteta in the middle, push Ramsey wide and give Giroud a rest.
