With Arsene Wenger supposedly quashing rumours about the apparent signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid and Pato from Corinthians, it is now time he turned his attention elsewhere. The wily old Frenchman has now been linked with Christian Benteke by an exclusive report from Sports Direct News, and in my opinion he is the man to fire them to the Premier League trophy.
Although the Belgian is struggling to find his shooting boots this season – he’s scored just four in his 11 outings – we know just how much of a threat he can be as he scored a whopping 19 league goals last season.
He has the strength to lead the Arsenal line, his movement is brilliant for a big man and the way he can shift through the gear when on the move is also something which would benefit the Gunners hugely.
He can score with both feet as well as his head, and he’s also decent at taking a player on. He enjoys dragging defenders out of their comfort zone which in turn generates space for those playing around him and is something that the likes of Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla could thrive off.
The 23-year-old will be a Champions League player in future, I’d stick some money on it if I could, and Arsenal are the platform to show the world his capabilities, in my eyes.
